The world is arguing, people are breaking up, communities are drawing tighter together and liberal societies are facing an ever-growing solitude. In the cave of this self-imposed isolation grows the fear of diversity and social mixing, in spite of laborious calls for greater fraternity. Is it possible to counter this alienation? With Together, Nils Amadeus Lange attempts to overcome embarrassment and weave links between the various normative tools of vivre-ensemble and the emergence of non-standardised communities. From roleplaying games for children to team building workshops, homogenous movements make way for singular bodies, for co-created stories, both tender and accidental – but always together.
 
Nils Amadeus Lange (born in 1989 in Köln) works as a performer and choreographer in Zurich. After completing his drama studies at Hochschule der Künste Bern, he began withdrawing from theater, shifting his focus to abstract forms of expression, dance and performance history during his master’s program “Scenic Arts Practice” (also at Hochschule der Künste Bern). The body, a central element in his work, is used as a means to deconstruct conventions, role models, and gender stereotypes.
