A small group of young artist-performers imagine a revolutionary artistic action. From there, the limits of engagement interfere with relationships, shake political convictions, modify artistic intentions, and transform a collective fantasy into a real nightmare. Moving from the group’s production space at the Théâtre de Nanterre-Amandiers to an isolated alpine chalet, this cinematic fable segues through different choreographic forms, as well as real and fictional stories, thus destabilizing our logic of perception. Winner of the Prix National Georges de Beauregard and the Prix du Public at the Festival International du Film FID in Marseille in 2016, UFE questions the limit between a work of art and a production community. It represents a new stage in the ongoing conversation between performance and film.
