Artistic statement by David Zagari
“Half concert, half parade, Cavalcade takes its cue from spaghetti westerns and plays with risk to shake up power dynamics, unfolding on a physical and sonic stage built in real time.”

Biography
After graduating as a contemporary dancer from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon, David Zagari worked with choreographers Philippe Saire (CH), Thierry Smits (BE), the St. Gallen Ballet (CH), Jorge Garcia (BR), DA MOTUS! (CH), Gisella Rocha (CH), Willy Dorner (AU), Jemima Hoadley (UK), Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet (FR), Pierre Rigal (FR), Rahu LaMo / Géraldine Chollet (CH), and Marie-Caroline Hominal (CH).
His interest in performance led him to complete a Post-Master’s degree in Performative Arts at a.pass in Antwerp in 2011, then a Master’s degree in Urban Space at ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels in 2014. During this period, he created several performances and participatory installations. In 2015, he founded the Hypercorps artists’ residency, which he ran until 2019. Collaboration is central to his curatorial practice and personal projects. His creation Le Piquet, co-produced by and premiered at the Les Printemps de Sévelin 2024 festival, has been selected for the prestigious European platform Aerowaves Twenty25.
