Monologues is presented through a series of performances spread out through time and space. Each of them takes its shape in distinct venues and time. This trimester, Monologues #1, #3 and #4 will be presented at Arsenic.

The performance with Clara Delorme takes place over an extended duration, allowing the audience to enter and leave freely.

Backwards to the concept of monologue, usually evoking a solo and egocentrical discourse, the choreographer Nicole Seiler explores here the monologue as a collective shape. The monologues are in dialogue, listening and answering, all the way to creating a polyphony of self-poetry.

What does it mean to have a voice? What does a voice say when its wordless? What does a body say when its voiceless?

The Monologues offers a space to nourish and cherish multi-faceted and moving identities. They reveal both idiosyncrasies and transversalities, through the ways in which each performer expresses themselves and begins to exist here and now. Hoping along the way to be heard and seen.

Clara Delorme is a French artist based in Lausanne. As a dancer, she has worked for Nicole Seiler, Dalila Belaza, Mark Lorimer and Yasmine Hugonnet, among others.
In her projects, she creates monochrome spaces and the characters that inhabit them. She likes to use colors one by one, imagining a world and a character for each one.
With each creation, she seeks to give space to what human beings possess that doesn’t need much space to shine and be beautiful: like being strange, old-fashioned and disconnected, or deep sadness.
In 2020, she wins the PREMIO prize for her piece Malgrés (green), and in 2022, she is selected for the Swiss Dance Days with her piece L’albâtre (white). In 2023, she was awarded the Label+ Romand for Le repos (blue).
She is co-founder of Arts_sainement, an association fighting discrimination and abuse in the performing arts, and of LIEU COMMUN, a research residency and meeting place in Lausanne.
In 2024/2025 she is living in Rome as part of a ten-month residency at the Istituto Svizzero, where she is working on various projects in a variety of formats.

Long format – audience may enter and leave at any time, the box office remains open.
