Irina is a 18-year-old girl who has been in the care of the French child welfare system since she was one and a half years old. She invites us to discover her story and through it, to take an interest in these “placed” children. Irina has two passions: dance and writing. In 2018, she began work on her first novel. The subject is dealt with through her gaze and her writing. Marika Dreistadt has decided to stage this story because it concerns her directly: Marika and Irina are related. IRINA is a documentary performance, based on the protagonist’s own story, but also on discussions with her youth worker, her sister, her brother, her aunt, and the entire artistic team. This mental and sensory experience appeals to our innermost being and deep emotional reserves by way of theatre, literature and radio fiction.
