“Anything can happen in life, especially nothing.” Michel Houellebecq. How can we let go of our desire for perpetual innovation? How can we find the new in the known? How can we become “re-enchanted”, or own our “disenchantment”? Using bodies, objects, sounds and space, the choreographer Ruth Childs and the musician Stéphane Vecchione tender a collection of situations which they construct and deconstruct indefinitely. The Goldfish and the Inner Tube is both absurd and abstract, mirror and window, coexistence and autonomy, distrust and generosity; it offers a detailed mode of observation faced with situations that are at once eccentric and curious, from the most banal to the most fascinating.
