Ritchy Mermaid (Mother Oricci)
Originally from Guadeloupe, Ritchy Cobral is a multidisciplinary artist at the crossroads of dance, fashion, and performance. Trained from a young age in traditional Caribbean dances, he has developed a strong aesthetic shaped by his Caribbean heritage and his immersion in the Paris Ballroom scene, where he is a leader and Mother of the House of Oricci.
A graduate of the Parisian fashion school Studio Berçot, he made his mark as a dancer and performer in Jean Paul Gaultier’s musical “Fashion Freak Show,” performed in Paris, London, Japan, and internationally. He has collaborated with major fashion houses such as Jacquemus, Balmain, L’Oréal, and Kenzo, and has appeared in LGBTQ+ visibility campaigns such as Calvin Klein’s #PROUDINMYCALVINS.
He has also been sought after for music videos by renowned artists like Vitalic, Slimane, and Waste, bringing his choreographic and visual signature to large-scale musical projects.
Recognized for his expertise in movement and elegance, he became a catwalk coach, preparing iconic figures such as Clémence Botino, Diane Leyre, and Indira Ampiot for the Miss France, Miss Universe, and Miss World pageants. Today, he shares his art through international masterclasses while continuing his stage work at the intersection of visual creation, performance, and identity expression.
