Scandal fifteen years ago when it was created in Paris at the Festival d’Automne, No Paraderan is a counter-leg to the famous Parade , a total show from 1917 designed by Jean Cocteau, Erik Satie, Pablo Picasso and Léonide Massine for the Ballets Russes . Here, the seven dancers overturn the argument and refuse to serve the spectacular soup. Installed in a gala evening, the protagonists camp in front of a curtain that will never open. This eminently subversive piece on desire and frustration, described at the time as “swindle” by Le Figaro and “bad joke” by Le Monde, has something mythical. At a time when the entertainment company is turning into buffoonery, it’s time to bring out the tuxedos!
