Imagine looking at one image that needs to be re-shaped, re-lived, re-born, re-main. Like separating scent layers that make up a fragrance, Untitled (sequences) is a deconstruction over four evenings. The character of PRICE echoes a product – of, for, about, through, and resisting time. Invested in the construction of sincere affect without interest in authenticity, PRICE and his extensive roster of collaborators reorganise and present accumulated materials. The force of language performs a deception of affect, drawing attention to the scenario as a technological prosthetic.
PRICE, Ivan Cheng, Tamara Alegre, Thibault Lac meet at a table and speak. The rhythms and emotional layers of (sequences) extend into the artillery of the speaking actor. Repeatedly broken by sonic interludes, the individuals re-enter the curtained space in a morphing tableau vivant, loaded with the affective archive of Hollywood fragments.
