Is there a way to bridge the gap between generations? Two gen z and one boomer meet. They argue. They clash. They are bridged through queerness but nevertheless divided by words and ideas. The stage becomes a space where we’re trying to get it all out in the open, in a tentative attempt to resolve everything.

In this poetic, political and determinedly joyful play, three performers explore their differences and share their practices in a kaleidoscope of artistic forms. Through dance, words, drag, movie making and karaoke. L’âge de nos idées invites an introspective journey through one’s relationship to the world, ageing, differences and transmission.

Yan Duyvendak is a Dutch artist living between Geneva and Marseille. Since 1995, he explores human relationships and social models. His plays like Still in Paradise and Please, Continue (Hamlet) questions our relationships with social and political norms. Often working in collaboratively, he created invisible with 31 artists and has developed games for his audiences, such as VIRUS and TWIST with the Kaedama collective. Yan also teaches at HEAD – Geneva.

Mia La-Brossard is a choreographer living in Amsterdam. Mia creates interactive installations that disturb the hierarchies of the gaze and question social norms through immersive choreographies. Mia’s drag alter ego, Uma, plays a central role in the performances, blurring the lines between the physical and the virtual worlds.

Yel K. Banto, an artist of chilian descent, lives between Geneva and Amsterdam. Yel’s transdisciplinary artistic work is inspired by dance, visual arts and symbols. All used in order to shed a new light on history. A graduate from HEAD – Geneva and with a choreographic background from SNDO, she has cofounded the Kimera collective. Her works have been presented in a variety of festivals and art spaces in Switzerland and beyond.
