La 7G is the story of a family curse in the form of an augmented monologue: both a one-man show and a choral work for eight voices, seven screens and one actor. Christian Geffroy Schlittler performs his own role as well as that of seven of his ancestors, who appear over video projection. A man is thus confronted with his imagined ancestors, who speak over each other in a polyphony of echoes, clashes, chords and cross-overs. Stories collide in a chaos punctuated by misunderstandings, while voices are interwoven into a tapestry.
In this staged possession of a human being by his ancestors, a question arises: is it still possible for an individual to make his own voice heard, when thousands of stories, past and present, resound in a multitude of channels?
