It’s a poetic and confrontational performance, following the artist’s political and romantic journey. The words are pronounced, sung, whistled, chirped, whispered, grumbled, shouted and growled by the Zizi Zozio dressed in full feathers. They tell of a battered sexuality, a damaged childhood and the impossibility of love.
“Even alone on stage, I love to invoke other creatures, to mix up the timelines. There will be some of that. … I will talk about community, gender and race issues. I try to talk about them as authentically as possible. With no wish to disturb, I try to use art as a space for doubts, for reconciliation. I try to say there what cannot be said in other spaces.”
