The performance Untitled (Nostalgia, Act 3) is preceded, for those who wish, by the broadcast of the film blackmilk. In a video format (21′ – free entry by reservation), Tiran presents an interpretation of the performance of the same name, presented at Arsenic in March 2024.
How does Giselle, the classical white ballet, meets the Angolan Kuduro, contemporary dance and Nigerian Alanta?
Far away from a Manichean vision, Tiran Willemse creates a dialogue between classical and contemporary, between diverse culture, without hierarchies or opposition. But with never ending exchanges.
By allowing these multiple references to merge, Tiran constructs his own dance museum using a whole new style of movement.
Inhabited by his ghosts, lingering images and haunting experiences, as much as by his references, Tiran shares an inner landscape made up of melancholy and magic. The result is a delicate, sensitive and emotional power that confirms the virtuosity already evident in his previous piece, blackmilk.
The product of his reflections on his personal legacy, dance is a mean to explore where he is and where he comes from.
